Single Vehicle Collision with a
Telephone Pole on Leonardtown Road

March 23, 2004 1516hrs:

Waldorf units were dispatched for a reported motor vehicle collision with entrapment on Leonardtown Road near Lakewood Drive. Units arrived on scene to find a small work truck towing a bobcat on a trailer had run off the road and struck a telephone pole. One person was trapped inside the truck and another person was found ejected from the back where numerous workers had been riding. Firefighters extricated the trapped subject using the Hurst Maverick tool while the numerous EMS units began treating the other injured victims. MSP Trooper 7 landed on the scene to transport the extricated victim while the ambulances transported the remaining victims to local area hospitals. The cause of the collision is under investigation by the Maryland State Police.
