Mutual Aid to 3 Working Jobs

April 18, 2353hrs:

Waldorf Truck 3 and Engine 122 responded to La Plata Co.1 for a reported house fire on Horseshoe Drive. Units from La Plata arrived on scene with light smoke showing from a 2-story residence. The crews from La Plata found fire in the 1st floor laundry room with extension into the walls. Truck 3 was assigned to bring in lights and assist with checking for extension while Engine 122's crew operated as the RIT team. Within minutes of arrival, Truck 3's crew encountered fire in a room on the 1st floor that rapidly grew in intensity. Engine 122's crew pulled a 2" handline from Engine 12 and advanced it through the front door, along with La Plata's crew, which relocated a 1-¾" line from the garage, and knocked down the fire. Members from Truck 3 and Truck 1 worked together to ventilate the roof of the residence with Cutters Edge saws. Units remained on the scene to assist with extensive overhauling of the sub-basement level and crawlspaces. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal.

April 20, 0149hrs:

Waldorf Engine 32 responded as part of the Task Force assignment to Pine Road in Prince Georges County Company 47's area for a working house fire. Upon arrival, the crew was assigned to Side Bravo and instructed to open up the ceiling and walls inside the garage. The crew found several areas of fire extension and extinguished the hot spots. Engine 32's crew operated on the scene for over an hour before being released by Command and returning to quarters.

April 20, 1951hrs:

Waldorf Truck 3 and Tanker 12 were dispatched to Bald Eagle School Road for a reported house fire in Prince Georges County Company 36's area. Units from Baden Co. 36 arrived on the scene to find a 2-story farmhouse fully involved and on the ground. Truck 3 was assigned to assist with overhauling the remains of the farmhouse. Tanker 12 provided 2 loads of water (5800 gallons) before being released by the Command. Truck 3 was released a short time later after the overhaul of the remains was completed and returned to quarters.
