May 15, 1802hrs:
A large power spike is being blamed for several simultaneous incidents in Bryans Road. Engine 122 and Tanker 12 were dispatched for a reported building fire at the McDonalds on Marshall Hall Road in Bryans Road. Units from Bryans Road went on the scene minutes later with the building full of smoke. While firefighters were investigating the source of the smoke, a second building fire was reported across the street at the Subway Sandwich Shop in the Bryans Road Shopping Center. Engine 122 and Tanker 12 were diverted to this second incident along with several other units on the original call. Engine 32 was dispatched to transfer to Bryans Road Co.11 as a fill-in assignment. Several minutes later, Chief 11 requested the 2nd Alarm to be dispatched for the McDonalds incident. Chief 11 advised to have all units on the 2nd Alarm proceed non-emergency to Station 11 and standby for further instructions. While staging at Station 11, a 3rd incident was dispatched for a Carbon Monoxide Poisoning on Sir Douglas Drive, only blocks away from the 2 incidents on Marshall Hall Road. Engine 32, along with several other units, responded to the CO poisoning. While the crew from Ambulance 78 began patient care for the 2 occupants of the residence, Engine 32's crew entered the 2-story home with a CO meter. No readings were detected in the residence after 2 sweeps and the additional responding units returned to the staging area at Station 11. The incident at Subway cleared a short time later with nothing found in the building. The cause of the smoke in the McDonalds incident was determined to be from a burned up air handler on the roof. All units cleared and returned to Waldorf a short time later.
Waldorf Responding Units: Engine 122, Tanker 12, and Engine 32.
