Shortly after returning to quarters, Waldorf units were dispatched for another motor vehicle collision with wires down on Leonardtown Road in front of the McDonalds. Upon arrival, Rescue Squad 3 found a single-vehicle into a utility pole with electrical wires hanging down over Leonardtown Road. The occupants of the vehicle were already out prior to the arrival of Squad 3. All power to the area was knocked out and Leonardtown Road was shut down from Old Washington Road to Post Office Road. A 9 year-old child suffered head and abdominal injuries from the collision. Crews from Squad 3, Ambulance 129, and Medic 21 worked to quickly package the patient for helicopter transport. Engine 32 setup a landing site in the parking lot of Murray's Steaks just west of the incident. MSP Trooper 2 flew the child to Children's Hospital Center in Washington DC.
