Trailer Fire on Middletown Road

June 27, 2004 2231 hrs:

Units from Waldorf were dispatched to the 2700 block of Middletown Road for a reported trailer fire. Engine 121 arrived on scene with smoke showing from a singlewide trailer, possibly vacant. Just as Engine 121's crew was advancing a 1-¾" handline to the trailer, fire blew out 2 windows in the front bedroom. The fire was quickly knocked down and contained to the bedroom area only with smoke damage throughout the structure. Engine 32 and Squad 3 arrived on scene and assisted with ventilation and overhaul. The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time and under investigation by the Office of the State Fire Marshall. Units cleared the scene within an hour and returned to quarters.
