June 28, 2004 1105 hrs:
Units from Waldorf were dispatched for a motor vehicle collision with injuries at the intersection of Crain Highway and Smallwood Drive. Rescue Squad 3 arrived on the scene to find a 5-vehicle collision with an 18-wheeler and 2 patients trapped in a small passenger car. While Squad 3's crew worked to extricate the trapped patients, the EMS units began patient care and stabilization. Engine 121 responded to setup a landing site in the southbound lanes of Crain Highway for US Park Police Helicopter Eagle 2. After the extrication was completed, both patients were flown by Eagle 2 to Prince Georges General trauma center. 3 additional patients were transported by Ambulances to Civista Medical Center in La Plata.
