Units were alerted for a townhouse fire on Jubilee Way in the Carrington Neighborhood. Chief 3A, Clark Embrey, arrived on scene with a 2-story split level townhouse with light smoke showing. Engine 33 and Engine 32 arrived moments later and advanced a 1-3/4" attack line into the residence. A neighbor next-door attacked the fire with a small dry-chemical extinguisher prior to the arrival of the fire department and was able to hold it inside the kitchen area. Firefighters quickly extinguished the remains of the kitchen fire and ventilated the residence. Chief 3A held the units from Fire 3 and Fire 12 on scene and placed the remaining units in service. The cause of the fire was grease cooking on the stove. Units cleared the scene within 20 minutes and returned to quarters.
Responding Units: Engine 33, Engine 32, Engine 122, La Plata Engine 12, Brandywine Squad 40, Hughesville Squad 2, Indian Head Tower 9, and Chief 3A.
