Waldorf units were alerted for a possible house fire at 4667 Leonardtown Road. Engine 33 and Truck 3 arrived on scene minutes later with a two-story house with light smoke inside. Firefighters found a female occupant inside the residence with second and third degree grease burns to both legs. As the victim was taken to Ambulance 38, firefighters quickly determined there was no fire extension to the kitchen. The burn victim advised she was cooking on the stove when the grease ignited. The victim attempted to remove the pan from the residence when she dropped it in the kitchen. The pan landed on a small dog and splattered the grease over the victim's legs. Engine 122 setup a landing site for MSP Trooper 2 to fly the patient to the Burn Center. Firefighters searched the area for the victim's small dog that was also burned but where unable to locate the animal. Units cleared the scene and returned to quarters.
