For the second time in one day, Prince Georges County Station 26, District Heights, had a major fire in an apartment building. First arriving units on Lorring Drive advised they had heavy fire on the 1st and 2nd floors of an occupied apartment building. When the 2nd Alarm was sounded, units from Waldorf were requested to transfer to north to provide coverage to the stripped firehouses. Truck 3 was assigned to transfer to Clinton Station 25 and Engine 122 was assigned to Oxon Hill Station 21. While enroute to the transfer locations, the 3rd Alarm was sounded with both Truck 3 and Engine 122 due on the box alarm. Units responded to the staging area at Forestville VFD Station 23. The 3rd Alarm assignment was placed in service a short time later and units were assigned to transfer stations. Truck 3 was rerouted back to Clinton Station 25 and Engine 122 was assigned to Seat Pleasant Station 8. Engine 122 ran several medical locals while assigned to Station 8. Truck 3 was released from the fill-in and returned to quarters at 0035 hours. Engine 122 was released from their transfer a short time later and returned to quarters in time to setup a landing zone for a motor vehicle collision on Marshall Corner Road.
