Waldorf Units Respond to Preston Lane
for Working House Fire in Bryans Road

December 13, 2003 1607hrs:

Units from Fire 12 were alerted for a working house fire on Preston Lane in Bryans Road with confirmed 2 subjects burned. First arriving units from Bryans Road VFD advised they had heavy fire showing from Sides 3 and 4 with live power lines down on Side 1. Engine 122 was the 3rd arriving engine and advanced a 400" 1-¾" preconnect line into the garage area with Tanker 12 providing water supply. Inside, the crew encountered heavy fire conditions with 2 vehicles inside fully involved. Engine 32 was dispatched to setup the water supply operations on Pomfret Road, but was cancelled prior to arriving on the scene. Chief 3A was designated the Water Supply Officer and coordinated the tanker shuttle operation. The 2 burn victims were reported to have received 2nd degree burns to the upper torso and arms. Both victims were transported by helicopter to the burn unit at MedStar in Washington DC by MSP Trooper 2. Units from Waldorf cleared the scene at 1751 hours and returned to quarters. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
