December 25, 2003 2253hrs:
Waldorf units responded for a reported structure fire in a Tri-plex on Rawlings Drive. The occupant of the residence advised she smelled something burning and went outside to check. The occupant discovered a trashcan and part of the outside garage door on fire. Engine 32 and Chief 3A arrived on scene shortly after to find the occupant extinguishing the fire with a garden hose. Firefighters checked the residence and determined there was no extension into the living areas. Most of the assignment was placed in service at this time, with Command holding the units from Fire 3, Engine 122, and Truck 1. The State Fire Marshall's Office was contacted due to the suspicious nature of the fire and is under investigation. Units cleared the scene at 2335 hours and returned to quarters.
Waldorf Responding Units: Engine 32, Engine 33, Rescue Squad 3, Engine 122, Ambulance 39, Chief 3A, and Chief 3.
Mutual Aid Units: La Plata Truck 1, Brandywine Engine 402, Hughesville Squad 2, Accokeek Tower 24, and Baden Engine 361.
