Waldorf Fire and EMS units were alerted for a reported kitchen fire on Thistle Place. First arriving Engine 33 found a two story townhouse with no fire or smoke showing. As the crew was advancing a 1¾" line into the residence, they found the interior charged with thick, black smoke. The crew quickly located the seat of the fire in the kitchen area and extinguished the fire. Engine 121 arrived on the scene and established the water supply as E-33's driver was setting up a PPV fan in the front doorway. E-121's crew brought in a thermal imager to assist with checking for extension into the walls. Brandywine Squad 40 assisted with setting up lights and overhaul. The cause of the fire was grease cooking on the stove.
Responding Units: Engine 33, Engine 121, Engine 363 (Baden), Squad 40 (Brandywine), Truck 1 (La Plata), Tower 24 (Accokeek), and Ambulance 129.
