August 25, 2003 0038hrs:

Waldorf units from Company 12 were dispatched for a motor vehicle collision with injuries in the 4800 block of Lancaster Circle. Medic 1, with Paramedic Pete Easley, responded on the call from Station 12 and arrived on the scene first with a pickup truck into a large tree. Engine 121, under the command of Sgt Chris Foss, and Ambulance 128 arrived on scene moments later as Paramedic Easley determined there were 3 injured occupants of the vehicle. All 3 patients had head injuries, with 2 of patients going in and out of consciousness. Paramedic Easley made the decision to have the patients flown by helicopter to a trauma center. Sgt Foss requested 2 additional ambulances and a second Medic Unit to assist the units on scene with patient care. Medic 21, along with Bryans Road Ambulance 118 and Charles County Rescue Squad Ambulance 519, responded to the scene. Engine 121 cleared the scene after the arrival of the additional units and setup a landing zone at Barnhart Elementary School for Maryland State Police Helicopters Trooper 2 and Trooper 7. The victims were flown to separate trauma center in Prince Georges County and Washington DC. Units cleared the scene at 0116 hours.
