September 16, 2003 2203hrs:
Units were alerted for an injured police officer following a high-speed chase on Homestead Place. An ALS response was requested from the other Sheriff Office units on the scene due to the seriousness of the injury. Engine 32 arrived on the scene and found a single officer with major trauma injuries from putting his hand through a car window. Ambulance 39 and Medic One arrived on the scene and worked to stabilize the patient. Medic 1 requested a helicopter to transport the injured officer to a trauma center. Engine 32 setup the landing site on Western Parkway, next to the scene. Maryland State Police Helicopter Trooper 2 transported the officer to Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, the leading hand injury specialist in the area.
