September 19, 2003 1228hrs:
Units from Waldorf responded for a report of a man trapped between a shed and a large tree on Wilson Road in the Carrington Neighborhood. Rescue Squad 3, Brush 3, and Chief 3A arrive on scene to find a SMECO lineman who had fallen over 30 feet and landed behind a shed near the railroad tracks. The lineman sustained serious injury from the fall but was not trapped. A helicopter was requested by Ambulance 399 to fly the patient to a nearby trauma center. The injured lineman was placed on a backboard, loaded into a stokes basket, and carried out of the woods. Engine 33 responded to Arthur Middleton Elementary School to set the landing site for MSP Trooper 2. Ambulance 399 and Medic 21 transported the patient to the landing site and transferred the patient to Trooper 2. The lineman was flown to a trauma center in Washington DC.
