Overturned Vehicle with One Ejected
on Crain Highway

September 21, 2003 1405hrs:

Benedict EMS Chief 5B was in the area of Crain Highway near the Golden Coral restaurant when he came upon a motor vehicle collision. A single vehicle had lost control, becoming airborne and rolling. The front seat passenger was ejected in mid-air. Chief 3B and Rescue Squad 3 both responded as soon as EMS Chief 5B made the call over the radio. A total of 5 patients were found on the initial scene size-up by Chief 3B, DJ Mills. Additional EMS units were requested to assist with patient transport, along with a helicopter to transport the ejected patient. Crain Highway was shutdown and MSP Trooper 2 landed at the scene. Ambulances transported the remaining 4 patients to various local hospitals. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
