Stations 3 and 12 were alerted to Crain Hwy and Pierce Rd. for the 10-50 PI with subjects trapped. Squad 3, under command of Chief 3B, and E-31 responded with 8 volunteers, and arrived on the scene just after EMS Duty 3 who had reported that there was no one trapped. Just as the Squad was arriving communications had advised that they were starting a helicopter because of the numerous calls they were receiving. Chief 3B assumed the Waldorf Command and cancelled the helicopter after the assessment of all the patients by Medic 608 and had determined all were BLS transports. The remainder of the assignment was placed in service and units cleared in about 40 minutes.
