Gasoline Spill at Bensville & Billingsley

 

 

 

 

January 12, 1200 hours
 

Station 12 was dispatched for a gasoline spill in the area of Billingsley Road and Bensville Road. E-124 responded and advised that they had a 94' Dodge Van spilling a large amount of fuel. E-124 requested Hazmat 16, RE-123, and Special Unit 9 to be dispatched to their location. Deputy Chief 12B arrived on scene shortly after the arrival of RE-123, and placed Hazmat 16 in service. Crews from RE-123, and E-124 contained the spill while Special Unit 9 plugged the spill from the vehicle. Once the spill was contained and plugged, crews began cleaning up the spill with absorbant. Units were on scene for alittle over an hour.
