First Due Building Fire

Waldorf Volunteers, along with several neighboring companies, were alerted to #10 Irongate Drive for a Building fire, odor of electric. Capt. 3 (Dypsky) was the first to arrive on location of a single story commercial row with nothing evident from side A. Engine 31 arrived next and advanced a 1¾" hand line into the store. Capt. 3 advised all units that he had encountered a moderate amount of smoke and heat and also possible sprinkler activation. E-31 and Capt. 3 located two autos on fire in side of a garage area and quickly extinguished the fire. The possible sprinkler activation was from a pipe to the water heater that had melted. Chief 3B arrived on the scene, assuming the Irongate Dr. Command and assigned Capt-3 Operations, E-31 as the attack group leader with E-122 working under them, and Truck-1 as the vent Group Leader with RS-2 working under them. Tower 24 was assigned as the RIT. Truck 1 and RS-2 opened the business up checked for extension and ran several lights inside the business. Chief 3 soon arrived and assumed Command with Chief 3B now acting as the Safety Officer. The remainder of the assignment was placed in staging and never used. Units cleared in about an hour. The MSFMO investigated the fire the next morning.
