February 28, 2100 hrs:
Just after our weekly drill had come to an end on Tuesday, night Waldorf Volunteers were alerted to 400 Garner Ave in the Carrington section of St. Charles for Smoke in the residence. Engines 31, 33, 122, and Chief 3A all responded with a total of 15 Volunteers from the two Waldorf stations. First arriving Engine 31 went on the scene with a 1 story single family home with smoke showing from the attic and the rear of the house while Engine 33 secured the water supply to Engine 31. Engine 31 found a small fire in the walls on side C of the residence that had almost extended into the attic Engine 31 extinguished the same while Engine 33 stood by with a back-up line and Engine 122 did a quick search of the house which proved to be negative. Truck 1 arrived on scene and assisted with lighting, ventilation and checking for extension. Chief 3A had the Waldorf Command and held Companies 3, 12, and Truck 1 for about 40 minutes before all units cleared the scene.
