Subject Trapped Berry Road
and Middletown Road

On Wednesday March 4th, 2008, Station 12 was dispatched for a motor vehicle collision later upgraded to a motor vehicle collision with subjects trapped at the intersection of Berry Road and Middletown Road. RE-123, PA-38, Chief 12B, and PA-169 for EMS 12 responded to the scene. Chief 2A, who was in the area, went on the scene with one trapped, which added Squad 3 to the assignment. RE-123 arrived on the scene and began extricating the subject whose vehicle had sustained significant damage to the driver side. Squad 3 arrived and placed additional tools in service to take the roof off the car. PA-169 assessed the patient as a Trauma Category "B", calling for a Medevac. PA-38 assessed the subject from the other vehicle who signed a release form. Charles County advised Eagle 2 was fifteen minutes out while RE-123 and Squad 3 were finishing with the extrication. The patient was loaded in PA-169 and further assessed while awaiting the arrival of Eagle 2. Berry Road was shut down in both directions to land Eagle 2. The patient was loaded in Eagle 2 and transported to P.G. Trauma Center.
