On this wet Saturday morning, Truck 3 (82) was dispatched to 17800 Croom Rd
for the house fire in Co. 36’s first due. Truck 3 responded with 4
volunteers on the run and was the first arriving special service. While
responding on this run, Command asked who the first due special service was
and Truck 3 advised command that they were on the scene as the first
arriving special, however were ignored by command. The OIC of Truck 3 went to
the Command post to do a face to face and advise the Incident Commander that
they were on the scene as the first arriving special service, and was still
ignored by the Incident Commander. After being blatantly ignored by the P.G.
Command staff, the OIC of Truck 3 met up with the officer from Co. 40 and
worked hand in hand with them opening up walls and helping the crews from 40
attempt an interior attack shortly after the crews were pulled out of the
building and an exterior attack was ordered. Truck 3 remained on the scene
for approximately 2 hours.
