Just before 3 pm, units from Companies 3 and 12 were at it again for the report of a motor vehicle accident with subjects trapped. Rescue Squad 3, Eng-31, Eng-121 and Chief 3 all responded to the location to find two vehicles that had collided, with 1 pinned in their car. Rescue Squad 3 Extricated the one victim within 3 minutes while Engine 31 assessed the scene and found that there were 3 trauma patients in one car that needed to be flown and 2 in the car that Rescue Squad 3 had extricated on. The first arriving EMS crew began prioritizing the patients and treated them accordingly. When all was said and done, a total of 3 helicopters transported 5 patients to various trauma centers. Chief 3 had the Crain highway command.
