Working Fire on Vernon Road

May 23, 1800 hours | |||
Waldorf Volunteers along with surrounding companies were alerted to 11645 Vernon Rd for the house on fire. Engine 32 arrived on scene with a 1 story single family dwelling with smoke showing from all four sides. Chief 3B arrived next and assumed the Vernon Rd Command and assigned Engine 32 as the attack group leader giving them Engines 121 and 836 to work with. Rescue Squads 3 and 840 worked together to remove the plywood from the home and Truck 1 who was assigned the Vent Group assisted with overhaul and ventilation. Command then requested an additional Engine and Special Service bringing Engine 825 and Tower 824 who where assigned as the R.I.T. Chief 3 arrived and assumed Safety and Chief 825 had Division 1.
Units worked for about one hour before being released. The Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire. | |||
