Apartment fire at 3004 Gallery Place

June 8, 1446 hours
reported by Fire 3 Deputy Chief D.J. Mills

The assignment was sounded for the apartment fire at 2004 Gallery Pl bringing Engine 31 Engine 121, Chief 3 and 3A. Engine 31 arrived on the scene with nothing evident from a 3-story garden apartment. As Engine 31 made entry to the third floor thick black met the crew. Engine 31 found an apartment off on the 3rd floor with extension into the attic. Engine 31 using their pre-connected 400 ft line was able to put a quick knock on the apartment and had the ceiling opened up to put a knock on that as well. Truck 1 assisted with opening the roof and ventilation while Engine-123 had a back up line in place.

Command held all units due to the heat that day for approximately 1 hour. Chief 3A originally had the command with E-31’s officer having operations. When Chief 3 arrived he assumed command with 3A taking over operations.
