Two Vehicle MVC | |||
June 9, 2105 hours | |||
On Tuesday June 9th, 2009 at 2105 hours, Station 12 was dispatched for a personal injury accident at the intersection of Smallwood and St. Patricks Drive. RE-123 and PA-129 responded to the scene. RE-123 arrived on scene with two vehicles involved and a possible third vehicle involved as well. RE-123 split their crew to check all three vehicles. After further investigation, it was determined that only two vehicles were involved with only one injury. One vehicle had moderate damage to the passenger side front quarter panel and the second vehicle had severe damage to the passenger side. PA-129 was assigned to the vehicle that had the most damage. While RE-123 secured all vehicles involved in the incident, PA-129 determined the patient to be a category "C" priority 2 and requested that the subject be extricated due to a previous neck injury. RE-123 utilized the Maverick tool and "O" cutters to cut the back door and "B" post. During the extrication PA-129 consulted with Prince George's Hospital Center to determine whether to Medivac the patient to their facility. Per consult, PA-129 transported by ground to the hospital. Units operated on scene for thirty seven minutes.
