On July 3, 2010 at 0140 hours, Engine Company 3 was alerted to the 40,000 block of Waterview Drive in Golden Beach for the working house fire. Engine 23 and Chief 2B were already on the scene with a 1 1/2 story house fully involved, with three vehicles burning and exposure problems on both sides of the house. Engine 31 responded with a crew of 5 and arrived on scene after a long ride to Golden Beach and was instructed to relieve the crew from Company 5. Engine 31 operated a hand line for a little while in the rear and was then given instructions to help open up what parts of the house were left. Engine 31 was released just a little before 0553 hours.

As Engine 31 was leaving the fire ground, they came across another working fire on Golden Beach Road approximately 1/2 mile from the first fire. The Crew stretched their cross-lay and found a room off at the end of the hallway and also preformed a primary search where 2 animals were found that unfortunately succumbed to the smoke in the house. Engine 31 finally made it back to Waldorf some time early Sunday morning.

Firefighters from Hughesville, Mechanicsville, Benedict, Waldorf, Hollywood and Avenue operated on the Fires in Golden Beach.
