Units were dispatched for a reported motor vehicle collision with one overturned in the area of Smallwood Drive and Lancaster Circle. EMS Captain Klinikowski, in EMS Utility 12, came upon the incident as the call was being dispatched. The single occupant was still in the upside-down vehicle, located off the road, and was instructed to wait until the fire department units arrived on scene to stabilize the vehicle. The patient refused and crawled out of the vehicle as Engine 121 & Ambulance 128 arrived on scene. The EMS crew examined the patient and the decision was made to fly her to a trauma center for a possible head injury. Engine 121 setup a landing site at Wade Elementary for MSP Trooper 7. The patient was flown to Prince Georges Hospital Center and was listed in stable condition.
