July 24, 2004:
Apparatus and Personnel from Waldorf VFD traveled to our southern neighbors in La Plata for their 75th Anniversary Parade. Engine 31 provided a fill-in crew to La Plata during the morning and afternoon to allow the members of the La Plata VFD to prepare for the parade and nighttime party. Just as the parade was preparing to start, a box-alarm for a possible house fire in Waldorf was dispatched. Engine 31 and Truck 3 responded from the parade staging area. Fortunately, the units were placed in service and were able to return to the parade. Waldorf units received a total of 7 trophies, including 2nd Best Appearing Overall Company.
