Fatal MVA on St. Charles Parkway

August 30, 2253 hrs

Units from Waldorf were dispatched to St. Charles Parkway near St. Marks for the MVA with entrapment. RS-3 arrived on the scene to find a single vehicle that had struck a tree with one occupant trapped inside. A helicopter was immediately requested, and crews utilized Rescue 42's to stabilize the vehicle, and the Maverick tool and Hurst Extractor II to extricate the victim from the vehicle. The victim was assessed by EMS and pronounced priority 4 and the helicopter was cancelled. RS-3 was held for investigative lighting.
