| |||
September 22, 1750 hours | |||
On September 22nd, 2009 at 1750 hours, Engine Companies 12 and 3 were dispatched for the single family house fire in the 5100 block of Marlin Court. RE-123, E-121, E-31, Duty Officer 3, Chief 3B, and Chief 12A responded to the scene. Duty Officer 3 arrived on scene first with light smoke showing and minutes later confirming a working fire in the kitchen. Duty Officer 3 established the Marlin Court Command until the arrival of Chief 12A and advised that all occupants had exited the structure. E-31 was the first arriving Pumper laying a supply line and arriving on side "B" with nothing evident. E-31 deployed a 1 3/4" attack line to the kitchen. RE-123 arrived on scene second and picked up E-31's supply line and then deployed a second 1 3/4" attack line. Both crews encountered heavy smoke conditions and the fire was extinguished. Chief 12A and E-121 arrived on scene shortley after RE-123. Chief 12A assumed command and assigned Truck 1 to secure the utilities. E-31 and RE-123 opened windows to ventilate. The structure was checked for any extension, but the fire was found not to have extended from the stove. Marlin Court Command released all units and command was terminated. Units operated on scene for 33 minutes.
