Units from Waldorf were dispatched to Crain Highway in front of Kentucky Fried Chicken for the Motor Vehicle Collision involving a Pedestrian. First arriving Chief 3A found a struck pedestrian lying in the southbound lanes of Crain Highway. As Engine 33 was arriving, Chief 3A advised he had a Priority 1 patient and to have all units step-up their response. E-33's crew immediately began working on the patient as the driver setup the light tower to provide adequate scene lighting. Due to the seriousness of the victim's injuries, Chief 3A immediately requested a helicopter for a medevac. Ambulance 38, Paramedic Ambulance 127, and EMS Chief 16B arrived on scene and began ALS care of the patient. E-33 setup a landing site on the scene and MSP Trooper 2 landed on Crain Highway just south of the scene. The patient was transferred to Trooper 2 and flown to MedStar in Washington, DC. After arriving at MedStar, the patient succumbed to his injuries.
