Violent Weekend in Waldorf

September 23 & 24
reported by Deputy Chief DJ Mills

Units from Company 3 got an early start to this weekend at 0235 hrs Saturday morning when they were awoken for a shooting at Gallery Place. Units arrived on the scene to find an adult male with a gunshot to the chest. The subject was air-lifted to a local trauma center where he later succumbed to his injuries. Later Saturday night, units from Co. 3 were back at it again for a shooting in the Rolling Meadows neighborhood on Flora Springs Ct. Units found an adult with 2 gunshot wounds. Moments later, crews were advised of another shooting at Rolling Meadows Street. The two shooting victims were apparently victims of an attempted carjacking and were both air-lifted by Eagle 1. Just after midnight, Units from Co.3 were dispatched to the Thai Seafood restaurant in Berkley Square for a possible shooting, however units arrived on the scene to find a large fight at a go-go club and a male suffering from seizures. Just a couple hours after the last incident, units were back on the street going to the Legends night club for the pedestrian struck. Crews arrived on the scene to find a female that had been thrown from the hood of her boyfriend’s car and was air-lifted to a local trauma center.

On a side note there was an armed robbery at the Pinefield liquors on Thursday where the store manager shot back. Units from Waldorf did not run as the robbers fled the scene, therefore there were no patients requiring treatment.
