Building Fire in Co. 1 Box Alarm District


September 2, 2004 0039 hrs:

Truck 3 was alerted as the first due Truck for smoke coming from the building in the area of Oak Ave. and Charles St. in Co. 1 box alarm district. E-11 C-1A arrived on the scene of 600 Charles St. with smoke showing from side 1 of the building and fire showing from side 2. C-1A established command as the crew from E-11 made an aggressive interior attack with the 1 1/2. Truck 1 arrived on side 1 and assumed the first due Truck duties. Truck 3 shortly therafter arrived in the rear and assumed seconde due Truck duties. Truck 3's crew thew ladders to the second floor and the roof, vented the same, and comlpeted secondary searches. Truck 3's chauffer placed lights and fans in service on the second floor, while the rest of the Trucks' crew assisted with checking for extension. Truck 11 and Rescue Unit 8 arrived and assisted with opening up the first floor and placing lights and fans in service.

Responding Units: Station 1, Engine Companies 10, 14, 12, Rescue Unit 8, Trucks 3 and 11, EMS 51 for the building fire.
