House Fire on Forest View Drive

September 8, 2004 2100 hrs:

Waldorf units responded for a reported single-family house fire on Forest View Drive. Engine 33 arrived on scene with fire showing from the attic area. The crew advanced a 1-¾" preconnect handline into the residence. Firefighters pulled ceiling in several upstairs rooms to gain access to the fire. The crew from Truck 3 laddered the roof and began opening it up as interior crews put a quick knock on the fire. Engine 121's crew pulled a backup line as Hughesville Squad 2 setup lights and assisted with overhaul. State Fire Marshall investigators determined the fire started from a short in the electrical wiring along the front wall. Units picked up and cleared the scene at 2303hrs.
