Trailer Fire Claims the Life of One

Waldorf Volunteer Fire Department companies 3 and 12 were sounded for the working fire in the 2400 block of Old Washington Road. Engines 31, 32, and Chief 3A all arrived to find a single mobile type trailer 100% involved. Engine 31 dropped the line at the end of the long driveway with Engine 32 completing the split. A 13/4" pre-connected attack line was deployed and a quick work of the remaining fire in the trailer was made. It was during the knockdown human remains were discovered within the trailer. Crews continued to extinguish the fire while notifications were being made to the appropriate authorities. Command held the assignment with units from station 3. Engine Company 12 provided the fill in crew. Last unit cleared shortly before 0100 hours. The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office.
