reported by Firefighter Tim Ramsey

Engine Companies 12 & 3 were alerted for the chimney fire in the 5200 block of Topsmelt Court. RE-123 arrived on scene with nothing showing, and advanced a 1 3/4" line to residence. RE-123's crew found the chimney on fire with no extension to the residence. Lt. 12 (Tunney) established the Topsmelt Command, and asked for E-33 to pick up RE-123's supply line while staging all other units. Command then asked for the first due truck (Truck 1) to proceed to side "A". Truck 1 had roof operations, and investigated the chimney finding no extension. Command held the scene with Companies 12 & 1, releasing E-33 and the rest of the units in staging. All material were removed from the chimney, and taken outside. RE-123's crew checked the attic area with a thermal imager, and found no extension. RE-123 ventilated house due to light smoke conditions in residence. Command was terminated while units picked up, and returned to service. Units operated on scene for less than an hour.
