| |||
October 23, 0808 hours | |||
Stations 3 and 12 were alerted for the General Alarm Brush Fire at 0808 in
Newburgs area. B-3, B-12, Tanker 12, and U-12 responded to 12285 Nyce Manor
Place, plus many other companies from the surrounding counties and Virginia.
Upon arrival Nyce Manor Pl. Command released Tanker 12, and assigned B-3 to
Division 1, and B-12 to Division 2. Approximately 5 acres were involved in the
fire. B-3, and B-12 emptied several tanks of water, after forestry deemed the
use of class A foam unhealthy for the environment being that the fire was so
close to the river. U-12 later arrived later with a relief crew for B-12.
After a couple more hours and several more tanks of water. Nyce Manor Pl.
Command released B-3, and B-12. Cause of fire is undetermined at this time.
