October 24, 2004 0810 hrs:
Waldorf Units were dispatched for the reported townhouse fire on Robinson Place. First arriving Engine 33 found smoke and fire showing from a 2nd story window in a middle-of-the-row townhouse. Engine 33's crew stretched a 1-¾" preconnect handline into the residence and quickly knocked the bulk of the fire out. Engine 33's crew performed the primary search of the residence as additional mutual aid units began arriving on scene. La Plata Truck 1 performed a secondary search of the residence while Hughesville Squad 2 was assigned to check for extension into the attached townhouse on side 4. All the occupants of the residence escaped without injury and there was no extension of the fire found. The Office of the State Fire Marshall responded to the scene and determined the cause of the fire was a candle left burning in the bedroom. Units cleared the scene within 2 hours and returned to quarters. Bryans Road Engine 112 filled-in at while the units were tied-up on scene.
