Small Fire in Idlewood

On this Friday evening, units from Waldorf 3 & 12 were alerted to Homette Pl. in Idlewood for the house fire. Chief 3B was the first to arrive and found light smoke showing from the front door. Upon entering the residence, the smoke became more moderate towards the back and was pushing through the vents in the floor. Engine 31 (with 6) and Truck 3 (with 7) arrived next and advanced a line into the residence while the Truck crew ran lights and secured the power to the the residence. A second line from Engine 31 was used to cover the crawl space while the Truck crew opened up the area. Chief 3A held the Idlewood Command and held Engines 31, and 122, along with Tanker 12 and Truck 3. Units operated for approximately 1 hour before returning to service.
