Fire 3 and EMS 3 & 12 were alerted for the MVA on St. Charles Parkway, near Northgate Place. While units were enroute, the Charles County Sherriff's Office arrived on the scene and advised Charles County that they had one patient confirmed trapped, requesting Priority 1 response. C.C. Communications updraded the assignment, adding E-121 to the incident.

Squad 3 arrived on the scene with 4 volunteers to find a single vehicle split in half, with the driver trapped in the front portion of the vehicle off the road, into the woods. The rear portion of the car was in the roadway. Deputy EMS Chief 3 (Monday) immediately requested the medivac. Chief 3A arrived ont he scene and established the Northgate Command. RS-3 stabilized the vehicle and used the Hurst tool to extricate the patient. After the patient was freed, RS-3's crew assisted EMS-3 and EMS-12 in removing the patient from the vehicle. E-122 set up the Landing Zone for MSP Trooper 7 to transport the patient.
