House Fire on Stone Avenue

Saturday evening - Waldorf Volunteers received the dispatch for working house fire, and E-31, Squad 3 and Chief 3-A responded immediately. EMS Chief 3-B (V. Monday) arrived on the scene, reporting that the house was fully involved with the occupant reported out of the residence with no one else inside. Engine 31 marked on the scene with fire showing from the first and second floor of a single family residence. Chief 3-A arrived on the scene and assumed command, Chief 12-B (J. Stewart) arrived on the scene and was assigned Operations. Crews from E-31 advanced a 1 ¾" pre-connect to the first floor, E-122 who arrived shortly after E-31 advanced another 1 ¾" to the second floor. Squad 3 performed ventilation, primary search and secured the utilities. Truck 1 arrived and performed the secondary search, opened up the first floor to check for further extension, and performed salvage and overhaul. E-32 arrived and assisted Truck 1 by opening up the second floor, salvage and overhaul. Squad 2 was assigned the RIT duties and filled Station 3 after being released. EMS provided a rehab and treatment area across the street from the incident, 2 firefighters were treated at the treatment area for burns to their hands with one being transported by Ambulance 37 to Civisita Medical Center and the other being treated on the scene only.

Injuries - 2 Firefighters (1 with burns to (R) hand, transported to CMC by Ambulance 37, 1 with burns to (L) hand treated on the scene).
