December 22nd, 1540 hrs
Waldorf Volunteers were alerted to 1013 Bannister Circle, located in the St. Charles section of Waldorf, for the kitchen fire. Rescue Squad 3 was clearing a motor vehicle accident in the first due and responded with seven volunteers. Engine 31 responded from quarters with four volunteers. Rescue Squad 3 arrived, with smoke showing from the rear of a one story single family dwelling. The RS-3's crew began strectching their bumper line to the front door, however E-31 arrived just behind the Squad and advanced their 200 foot crosslay. Crews forced entry to the residence and located the fire in the kitchen area. The fire was knocked quickly prior to other units arriving and no extension was found. The primary search proved negative. E-122 arrived, picked up E-31's line, and ventilated via the ridge vents. Command Held E-31, E-122, and Rescue Squad 3. Chief 3 had the Bannister Circle Command and the officer from RS-3 had the interior.
