Trash Compactor Fire on Plaza Way

December 30, 2314 hrs

Waldorf Volunteers were to dispatched 3317 Plaza Way for a building fire. Crews found a large trash compactor and dumpster, attached to a commercial structure, packed full of cardboard with fire showing. RS-3 used the winch on the apparatus to pull the dumpster away from the building, to prevent extension into the building. RS-3 also used power and hand tools to cut an opening into the side of the dumpster to gain access to the fire. E-31 extinguished the fire and E-122 established the water supply. RE-13 also responded for additional manpower and the crews performed extensive overhaul.
