Administrative FAQ’S

Fully complete one of our in person or online applications. There is a required $20 fee that must be submitted with application. After background check clears you will be contacted by one of our membership representatives via phone or email.

We recommend you apply to the most desired area first. Each area consists of many state level and in house extensive learning and testing requirements that must be met within a 12 month period.

As our operation is 100% volunteer and our members have other occupations we ask that you give us a 1 week time period to review your application and respond in a timely fashion.

Training FAQ’S

All required training courses, gear, and equipment will be provided to at free of charge.

All Core Classes will be completed at the Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute. You will receive future instructions on how to apply for these courses once all administrative requirements have been completed.

It may take an estimate of 6 to 12 months to complete these courses depending on the availability of the course and your personal availability to take the course.

We highly encourage you to continue volunteering while taking these courses as it can be valuable to you gaining assistance in clarifying curriculum that you may have questions on or worked on in class.
Day 1 FAQ’S

We ask that you wear comfortable appropriate attire that you won’t mine getting dirty. Athletic attire is allowed. Lastly, closed toed footwear is required.

We recommend bringing food, hydration drinks, and change of clothes as you possibly could be around and handling equipment that could stain or damage clothing.

You can except to have a 1 on 1 station tour along with a detailed tour of all our apparatus and equipment. Also potentially riding along on calls getting a feel for the day to day experience. Doing this time you will be paired with one of our members to ensure your safety any questions you may have are be answered.

Day 1 you can expect to get your personal Probationary Workbook. This workbook contains all required physical training & testing that must be completed before being fully capable of operating independently.
