WVFD Squad, Engine & Chief Respond to Indian Head House Fire
Story by Coordinator/Public Information Officer William Smith
Charles County 911 received a call at 2:13 a.m. that “smoke and flames were coming out of the roof” from the house located at 1011 Kenneth Court in Indian Head.
NDW Truck #20, E201 and E91 arrived very quickly, T20 established “command” confirming fire through the roof and went to work with units on scene gaining entry to locate the reported person trapped under extremely heavy fire conditions.
Moments later, Battalion Chief 11 (McCormick) arrived and assumed “command” requesting SMECO for live wires on “side bravo”. T20 reports holes in floors and stairway compromised on the front entrance.
Command reported majority of the fire is out, primary and secondary searched proved ‘negative” requesting Fire Marshal’s Office. Two of the homeowners did arrive home, the third occupant is out of town. No injuries reported, Fire Marshal continues to investigate.
43 personnel operated on scene, all Tankers were placed in service since the community water system has been placed in service.
Special thank you to the ladies auxiliary for the water for all firefighters on scene.
